Director – Specialty Business Unit

Aakash Kumar Sarkar is Director - Specialty Business Unit at Eli Lilly and Company India. In his role, Aakash is responsible for Sales and Marketing for all specialty business unit products that span across therapy areas like Oncology, Osteoporosis and Immunology. He is also responsible for Sales operations, NPP and SFE for the affiliate.

Aakash has been part of Lilly for over 22 years and has held cross-functional and cross-regional roles in marketing, sales and learning and development. In his last assignment, Aakash led marketing for Oncology portfolio for Lilly India. He also worked as Marketing Lead for Oncology within the SAMETA region (South Asia, Middle East, Turkey and Africa) where he played a crucial role in managing drug launch and guiding regional teams on developing and implementing customer plans.

Aakash has his professional degree - B. Pharm from Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy Bangalore University and completed his EPSM form Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
